Earn for Your Country Project - Social Science Department

Motto of the project "Earn For The Country":

¶ To inculcate "dignity of labour" including values of hardwork among students.

¶ Giving the students an opportunity to acquire work experience along with academics.

¶ Enhancement of skills and to foster the feeling of fraternity.

¶ Reduction of the sense of alienation in the students' mind about what they learn.

PROCEDURE:

¶ On 3rd February 2022 students committee was formed for the implementation of this project.

¶ Variety of ideas such as starting up of home tutions for the students in their neighbourhood, earning from parents for doing extra household chores, agricultural activities, making and selling of art and craft items, selling of old newspapers and plastic waste materials etc. were shared among the students.

¶ Students were stimulated to be active members of this project as they could earn while they learn.

¶ The fund raised through this project will be used as charity to the society.

Community Outreach Programme - Social Science Department

Outreach goals of our school:

* To create a system and schedule for providing community outreach.

* To enhance community awareness and feeling of unity among the students.

* To mould our students to be emotionally sensitive towards the needs of the society.

* To broaden the feeling of oneness and community support.

Department of Social Science collaborates with Community Outreach:

Community service is an integral part of our school curriculum. The department was successful in inculcating a sense of empathy and compassion among the students by helping the underprivileged and making them sensitized towards the community. Student leaders were an integral part of the success of our community outreach program.They took leadership roles for executing the agenda of activities. Few of our activities included:

# Aid for the elderly:

Students volunteered in visiting a nearby elderly home,where they spent time by listening to the inmates, telling stories and jokes, also singing songs for the aged. Their joy and happiness on the day was immeasurable.

# Plastic Management:

Students collected plastic waste materials from their neighbouring houses and was pooled in the school. These materials were then sent to a recycling plant in the city. This activity helped in the management of plastic waste which in turn resulted in plastic free surroundings.

Cleanliness Drive:

Clean environment leads to a healthy life. To promote this value, student volunteers were taken to the nearby village where many families lived in the sea shore.Our students proved to be very energetic and active in cleaning the beach. This activity was filled with joy for the students as well as for the villagers who joined the school team in cleaning up their area.

#Food and clothes for the needy:

Once in a month food and cloth distribution drive is conducted by the students of classes VI to X.Home made food and old clothes are brought to school on every first Friday of the month and is distributed to the needy in our village.

These activities provided opportunities for our students to make a difference in someone else's life and realise the beauty of selflessness. This program was successful in promoting "Unity in Diversity". Students could develop skills and knowledge to serve in diverse communities.
